Twilight Princess is a popular entry in the Zelda series, though it's often overshadowed by recent launches like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, or even older games like Ocarina of Time. The game was Nintendo's attempt to reinstill some of the gritty, creepy qualities of Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. The game pivoted away from Wind Waker, which was heavily criticized at the time for its cartoony cel-shaded style, even though it's very popular these days. Twilight Princess isn't lacking in humor and sweet moments, but it also tends to have a somber, dark atmosphere to it, which this Princess Zelda cosplayer embodies well.

Reddit user generallynotamused shared their new Princess Zelda cosplay from Twilight Princess with a series of selfies. The cosplayer says that they still need to style the wig to fully complete the look, but the costume, armor, and ornaments are all here and look great. The sculpt of the armor strongly matches the in-game appearance, and small details like the design on the gloves are present. The use of color contacts and eye makeup gives the cosplayer the same sort of intense expression that Zelda often held throughout the events of the game. While the cosplayer is lacking Zelda's sword, it sounds from the comments as though they'll be adding that in the future.
Zelda Fans Compliment Cosplay of the Princess
Zelda fans have enthusiastically complimented generallynotamused on their cosplay. Several fans were impressed at the overall costume, with some wondering if it was handmade. Generallynotamused explained that they purchased it from a website and were very happy with the quality. One noted that the cosplay reminded them of Zelda's possessed form, to which generallynotamused said they were thinking of cosplaying that version of her, as well.
While many Zelda entries have come and gone since the release of Twilight Princess, it's clear that the game is still loved by many fans. Unfortunately, the game hasn't seen a re-release on the Switch, despite fan demand. Recent rumors have suggested that a Twilight Princess port could come to the Switch in the near future, but fans should take this with a grain of salt. With the Nintendo Switch's lifecycle coming to a close, it's possible that fans may have to hold out until the Switch 2 to see if the game gets a second life on a new system. However, given that the Switch 2 may feature backward compatibility and use the same Nintendo Switch Online service, there's still a chance it could launch on current hardware and then move forward with the next system's launch.
